    Az ellenálláshegesztés egy olyan hőelektromos technológia, amelynél az alkatrészek hegesztése során hozzáadott anyag nélkül erős mechanikai és/vagy elektromos kötés jön létre. A kötés létrehozásához a szabályzott hegesztőáramot a befogópofákon és az elektródákon keresztül vezetik a munkadarabhoz. A hegesztési folyamat magas minőségéhez a hegesztési áram, a munkadarabokra ható nyomóerő a teljes művelet közben szabályozott.
